"ആത്മാവില് ദരിദ്രര് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്; എന്തെന്നാല് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അവരുടേതാകുന്നു." ധനസുഖങ്ങളില് ഹൃദയം നിമഗ്നമാക്കാത്തവരെയാണ് അവിടുന്നു ഇവിടെ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. രാജാധിരാജനും സകല ഐശ്വര്യങ്ങളുടെയും അധിപനായ മിശിഹായുടെ ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിന്റെ അഗാധത അറിയണമെങ്കില് ഗാഗുല്ത്താ മലയിലേക്കു നമ്മുടെ കണ്ണുകള് ഉയര്ത്തണം. ദൈവകുമാരന്റെ അരമന കപാലഗിരിയുടെ മുകളില് ദൃശ്യമാണ്. മൂന്നാണികളാല് നിര്മ്മിതമാണ് അവിടുത്തെ സിംഹാസനം. ദാഹത്താല് വലഞ്ഞും, നഗ്നനായും, സഹായിക്കാനും സ്നേഹിക്കാനും ആളുകളില്ലാതെ പരിത്യക്തനായും അവിടുന്നു നമുക്കു ദൃശ്യമാകും. മനുഷ്യരോടുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഉല്കൃഷ്ടമായ സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെയും ഉദാത്തമായ ത്യാഗത്തിന്റെയും ബലിവേദിയാണ് ഗാഗുല്ത്താ. സ്രഷ്ടാവിന്റെ ദാരിദ്ര്യം കാണുവാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവര് കുരിശിലേക്കു കണ്ണുകളുയര്ത്തണം. ദിവ്യനാഥന്റെ കാലടികളെ അനുഗമിക്കുവാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന നാം സാമ്പത്തികമായി ഉയര്ന്നവരോ, സാമൂഹ്യമേഖലയില് അഭിവൃദ്ധി പ്രാപിച്ചവരോ, മറ്റേതെങ്കിലും നിലയില് ഉള്പ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവരോ ആയിരുന്നാലും ശരി കുരിശില് തൂങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്ന ഈശോയുടെ ചിത്രം നമ്മുടെ കണ്മുമ്പില് എപ്പോഴും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. നൈമിഷികങ്ങളായ സുഖങ്ങള് നല്കുന്ന ലോകവസ്തുക്കളില് നിന്നെല്ലാം ശ്രദ്ധാപൂര്വ്വം വിട്ടുമാറി നിത്യമായവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുവാന് നമുക്കു ശ്രമിക്കാം. #{red->n->n->ജപം}# ദാരിദ്ര്യം എന്ന സുകൃതത്തിന്റെ മാതൃകയായ ഈശോയെ! Knowing that He will have to suffer cruel indifference, pain, indignities and disgrace, He willingly offered to take human form. From the day Jesus took human form and was born into this world until His death on the cross, He fulfills only the will of the Father. He prepares himself for the completion of the work of our redemption according to the plan of the Father. He shows neither disobedience nor selfishness. This should be a model for us. The only way to find solace, peace and happiness in the sorrows and pain of our life is to submit ourselves to the divine care. The pains and sorrows that we suffer are not accidental. We can see the work of God’s hands in this. Like the gold that is melted in the furnace is free of blemish, the souls that have been purified in the furnace of sorrows gallop to the highest level of hallowed life. Let those who are fearful and reluctant to bear sufferings and pain turn their gaze towards crucified Jesus, who is the lord of the world .Do not be doubtful in submitting ourselves fully to God. The merciful God who takes care of the birds in the sky, animals on earth and lilies in the fields will take care of us. To think that God will forsake humans whom He created in His own image is a grave mistake. The obedience of Jesus is a model for every one of us. In the garden of Gethsemane He agonized and sweat blood. His clothes were covered in blood and earth becomes drenched in blood. Overcome by fear He falls down. In the midst of severe pain and sorrow He prays helplessly: ”Father ! Not my will, your will be done” This is an example of total surrender, which world has never seen. At the last moments of His life on the cross at Calvary, the prayer He uttered is most meaningful, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit” and when He had said this He breathed His last. Jesus’ incarnation was to fulfill the will of God. He was born into this world on the time destined by the Father. He worked according to the plan of the Father. After finishing all the assigned deeds He dies. He is a model to all human beings. It is proven without doubt that gentleness is an essential quality to lead a blessed and peaceful earthly life. Sacred Heart of Jesus is a model of this priceless virtue. All throughout His life, especially during passion Jesus has shown amazing gentleness. He bore all afflictions silently like a lamb. The one who created the stars in the sky, fish in the deep ocean and all creatures in the world, patiently suffered all iniquities and injuries thrusted upon Him by the Jews. At the end of Jesus’ three years of public ministry when Judas betrays Him, He does not reproach him. Instead He lovingly said to him, “Friend, do what you have come for. “When Peter thrice denied knowing Jesus, our Lord did not show even a bit of aversion but by his graceful glance beckoned Peter to repentance. When St. Thomas was doubtful about the resurrection of Jesus, He appeared before him and allowed him to touch His Sacred Heart. All throughout His life, up until His painful death Jesus behaved in a very gentle manner. Let us follow this model of our lord and leader. Being the disciple of one who treated even His enemies with love and tenderness, is it proper for us to hate our brothers? Do we fervently try to imitate Jesus by praying for our enemies? The virtue of purity is similar to a pretty flower. It is natural that everybody will be attracted to such a person enlightened with this divine virtue. Since Jesus was God, he glowed with all virtues in its fullness. He exercises the virtue of purity and draws towards Him those who are pure in heart. At the time of His incarnation He chose a virgin, who was imbued with purity to be His mother. His foster father St. Joseph was in no way surpassed in purity and equity and he disciplined Jesus in His childhood. Of His twelve disciples, St. John who gleamed in the power of abstinence was loved most by Jesus and he was the only one who was allowed to recline on His bosom. During His lifetime, Jesus was accused of varied evil deeds and was scorned and belittled. But His enemies could never portray Him doing anything against the virtue of purity. According to the doctors of the Church, those souls who stay steadfast in the virtue of purity and constantly wage war for preserving it are considered equivalent to the heavenly angels. Only those souls who sparkle in the virtue of purity can follow the Lamb of God and sing heavenly hymns with the heavenly choir. Therefore all you devotees of the Sacred Heart, let us strive to forgo all the temporal worldly pleasures and lead a life of purity. One who lengthens himself away from impure sins is both intelligent and lucky. The proud and the presumptuous will certainly fall into traps and perish. While waging a war with the body constantly, one should be careful enough to adorn himself with the required accessories and weapons. Instead of relying on self-power and knowledge, seek divine intervention and submit oneself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. To safeguard this virtue, distance yourselves from all evil that will hinder it. Pray every day to the Holy Virgin and to St. Joseph, who is the guardian of all abstainers to prevail in this virtue. In the same way, is there anybody who is not surprised at Jesus, who is the second person in the Holy Trinity and who has full freedom and control over the entire world, yet who left aside his heavenly glory and took the form of a lowly human being. From whom did Son of God take human form? Is it from one among the nobility or from the prosperous? Certainly not. Though hailing from high heritage, in the eyes of the world His mother is a little known, poor virgin. She is the embodiment of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and in purity she ranks the topmost. Let us have a bird’s eye view of Jesus’ birthplace. He is born in the midst of animals in an insignificant and dirty manger. During thirty years of his private life He earned His livelihood by hard work. In His famous Sermon on the Mount’, the first thing He spoke about was poverty.” Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God.” Here He refers to the people who are not attracted to this world or its pleasures. If we would like to measure the depth of Jesus’ poverty, then we should lift our eyes to Golgotha. Jesus is the king of kings and the Lord of all prosperity. In Golgotha, the palace of the Son of God is visible above the hills. His throne is made of three nails. We see him tired, thirsty, naked, helpless and targeted by forgetfulness, negligence and contempt. We see the overflowing love of God and His mighty sacrifice at the altar in Golgotha. Those who wish to see the poverty of our creator, should turn their eyes towards the cross. If you wish to follow the footsteps of Jesus, then you should always behold the picture of crucified Christ in your mind’s eye.
